Background

After 120 years of construction and development, Tongji Hospital is now one of the best hospitals in China and has a good reputation in the world. Due to the number of patients surged, the hospital built two new branches in Wuhan since 2014.

 

Customer Requirements and Challenges

Traditional campus network uses switches and copper cables for LAN access, this architecture needs more fibers and optical transceivers, more spaces for aggregation devices. So, it is not energy and space saving solution.

The information center of hospital wants to find a new energy and space saving solution for building up campus network.

 

Bland Technologies Solution

As an expert in telecommunication industry, we know the advantages of POL (Passive Optical LAN), and it can perfectly meet customer needs. The solution is:

1, Put OLTs (Optical Line Terminal) in equipment room, they connect to core switches for data uplink.

2, Replace aggregation switches by optical splitters, which are small and passive. So, there is no need to provide power to aggregation devices.

3, Replace access switches by ONUs (Optical Network Unit), which support different service access such as data, voice, and video. PoE service is also available.

Our full series of ODN (Optical Division Network) products, fiber and cables are also used in the project.
