Background

China Baowu Steel Group is the largest steel company in the world, it produced 115 million tons of steel in 2020 and ranks 44th in the 2022 Fortune Global 500 list. In 2019, under the pressure of energy reduction and efficiency increase policy, Baowu decided to build up a big data industry park in Wuhan. The whole park covers 22.24 acres, and there will be 7 buildings, and 18,000 standard 20A racks. It will be one of the largest data centers in central China, and provides IDC services to public.

 

Customer Requirements and Challenges

The data center is designed at the highest industry standards, such as GB50174 A Class, Uptime TIER III-TIER IV, and etc. To select the energy saving and reliable devices is key to the success of the project.

 

Bland Technologies Solution

As the development of economic, end users need to store and use increasing numbers of data. In order to increase the income per square meter, the center needs to deploy high-speed devices which connect servers and storages. So, we proposed our 40G and 100G optical transceivers to customers, and the solution is:

1, Use MPO (Multi-fiber Push On) system in the racks, which saves 40% rack space compare with traditional ODF (Optical Distribution Frame) system.

2, Deploy 40G and 100G optical transceivers for connecting among switches, servers and storages.
